  • Induction Program

The induction program provides information and guidance for enterprises aiming to obtain a Mowaamah certificate and assist enterprises in training applications. An accredited trainer will visit the facility and offer a comprehensive workshop on the eight criteria of Mowaamah, which are:

 

  • Commitment
    • The enterprise's obligation to apply and promote best practices relating to hiring persons with disabilities internally and externally.
    • Appointing a senior manager responsible for the employment of persons with disabilities.
    • Determine the enterprise's obligation to persons with disabilities.
    • Work or interact with persons with disabilities on an ongoing basis.

 

  • Knowledge
    • Train employees to be able to effectively communicate with persons with disabilities as colleagues or as clients and to know their obligations towards them.
    • Train the managers and colleagues of employees with disabilities to enhance their communication skills.
    • Provide information on general access to websites and buildings.
    • Hire trainers and instructors with disabilities.

 

  • Recruitment
    • Attract and employ persons with disabilities to capitalize on their skills and multiple talents.
    • Barriers- free employment procedures.
    • Apply quantitative employment of persons with disabilities (numbers).
    • Apply qualitative employment of persons with disabilities (productivity).

 

  • Human Resource Management
    • Ensure that the enterprise values all employees, including those with disabilities or those who became disabled and commit to securing necessary arrangements to ensure their progression and development.
    • Allow any improvements requests or means of facilitation in the workplace (by persons of disabilities).
    • Provide equal training and developing opportunities for employees with disabilities.
    • Pay attention to the job satisfaction of employees with disabilities.

 

  • Products & Services
    • Develop and enhance products and services to accommodate the needs of customers with disabilities.
    • Provide products and services to customers with disabilities.
    • Train customer service staff and develop their communication skills to attend to persons with disabilities needs.
    • Be attentive to clients with disabilities complaints and suggestions.

 

  • Communication
    • Use appropriate means of communication for all persons with disabilities and update them whenever necessary.
    • Provide sign language interpreters when required.
    • Use alternative communication methods, such as Braille printing for those with visual impairment.
    • Provide subtitles for videos.


  • Facilities
    • Ensure easy access for staff and customers with disabilities to facilities and secure any required arrangements whenever necessary.
    • Apply universal access standards for buildings.
    • Remove barriers when needed.
    • Take into consideration persons with disabilities needs in installing evacuation plans.
  • Information and Communication Technology
    • Provide and enable ICT for persons with disabilities and develop them to serve their needs.
    • Speed up and facilitate any request or requirements by persons with disabilities.
    • Provide special software and hardware, such as a screen magnifier.
    • Change hardware settings whenever needed, such as computer screen colors.
